Twenty20 World Championship 2007

South Africa vs England

ICC World 20-20, SA vs ENG, Super 8: South Africa beat England by 19 runs

South Africa Cricket team England Cricket team South Africa produced a disciplined bowling performance to beat England by 19 runs in their Super Eight match of ICC World Twenty20 in Cape Town on Sunday.
Matt Prior (30) and Owais Shah (36) were amongst the runs for England as after Kevin Pietersen was controversially run out for 15, they slid to only lose their way. Andrew Flitoff's brief stay for 17 runs raised slim hopes of an England win but six-hitter Dimitri Mascarenhas was asked too many questions when the team needed 29 off the final over.
Earlier,Albie Morkel's incredible 20-ball 43 down the order propelled South Africa to 154-8 in their 20 overs. The hosts, who were sent in slumped to 94-6 at one stage, but some amazing power hitting by Morkel allowed South Africa amasse 154.
Stuart Broad took the second over and struck with his first ball but skipper Paul Collingwood kept switching his bowlers as the hosts slipped to 42-3 in the sixth over, but recovered well to hit 98 from the final 11 overs. England's slipped in the field as they dropped some regulation catches, including two of two from Mark Boucher. Morkel was also let off the hook as England wilted under his onslaught.
