Sri Lanka Cricket team Kenya Cricket team Sri Lanka made an emphatic start to their ICC World Twenty20 campaign as they crushed Kenya by 172 runs in Johannesburg today.
After having posted the highest Twenty20 score of 260-6 in 20 overs, the World Cup runners-up restricted the hapless Kenyans to 88-9 in 19.3 overs to claim full points. The Lankan charge was led by opening batsman Sanath Jayasuriya, who made 88 from 44 balls while skipper Mahela Jayawardene hammered a 27-ball 65 until Jehan Mubarak unleashed his fury on the Kenyan bowlers to hit an incredible 46 off just 13 balls to push the score to 260.
