India lose to Sri Lanka by five wickets

Sri Lanka beat India by 5 runs in the first warm-up game for the two sides in the run up to the ICC World T20 in Bangladesh. Indian opening pair of Dhawan and Rohit Sharma and the rest of the team failed to put up any solid partnerships after Sri Lanka posted a competitive total of 153/6 in their 20 overs. Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was excellent with the ball as well as with the bat with a three-wicket haul and scoring 19 off 12 balls, but Malinga's 4-30 won the game for two-time finalists Sri Lanka. MS Dhoni did not bat for India. India got close to reaching their target of 154, but they ultimately fell short after posting a score of 148 all out.

Pakistan beat New Zealand by six wickets in a World Cup Twenty20 warm-up on Monday. New Zealand struggled with the bat on a slow turning pitch, posting 145 for 9 with Brendon McCullum scoring an unbeaten 59 from 45 balls after his side won the toss and opted to bat first. Muhammad Hafeez and Kamran Akmal struck fifties as Pakistan laboured to a penultimate-ball finish after being in total command of proceedings at one stage.
