West Indies defeated England by fifteen runs during their ICC World Twenty20 Super Eights match at Pallekele city. West Indies captain Darren Sammy won the toss and elected to bat and opener Johnson Charles scored his maiden half-century while Gayle was the aggressor in the partnership scoring 58, hitting six fours and four massive sixes. Man-of-the-match Charles struck 84 off 56 balls. Chasing West Indies' imposing total of 179 for five, England required 23 off the final over but the dismissal of Hales, who struck two sixes and five fours, ended the defending champions hopes and they finished on 164 for four.
