Outplayed by Shane Watson's superb all-round show (three for 26 and 51), Ireland struggled to 123/7 batting first, and Australia had no trouble making 125/3 in 15.1 overs on the back of a 60-run opening stand. When he reached 22 Warner became the first Australia to make 1000 Twenty20 international runs.For Ireland, brothers Niall and Kevin O’Brien put together a 52 run stand around the 15th over. It came after Ireland found themselves down 4-33 early. Ireland has won some impressive games in the last few years, defeating Pakistan in 2007 and then England in 2011 despite the squad being made up of travellers and part-time pros.
