Sri Lanka will be looking for the elusive test match and series win when they tour India for a Three Test, five ODI and Two T20 match series from November to December 2009. The team arrive in India on November 8th for the 55-day tour.
The 2009 ICC World Twenty20 is the World Championship for Cricket in the Twenty20 format. There are 12 teams competing in the Group Stages. The first two placed teams from each of the four groups (Group A to D) will move on to the Super Eights. Each team plays three games against teams they have not already played. (Teams divided into Group E and Group F). Fixtures are predetermined and have no connection to who finished first and second in the group. No points are carried forward from group stages. Top two teams in Groups E and F qualify for semi-finals.

Pakistan pull off comfortable victory over Ireland to reach the Semi Finals

Pakistan beat Ireland by 39 runs to secure a berth in the Semi Finals of the ICC World twenty 20 Championship. The Pak team were dominant in all aspects of the game. Kamran Akmal, once again came through for Pakistan and was the top scorer with 57 runs. Shahzaib Hasan (23) and Shahid Afridi (24) also made notable contributions to Pakistan's total of 159/5. Kyle McCallan was the most successful bowler for Ireland taking 2 wickets at the cost of 26 runs.
In the batting line-up of the Irish, only three players were able to score double-digits. Opener William Porterfield (40 runs off 36 balls) tried to build a strong innings, but the Pakistan bowlers kept Ireland on their toes and took wickets at regular intervals. From 87/3 in 13 overs, Ireland only reached 111/9 in 18.3 overs. Saeed Ajmal was the one who wreaked most havoc on the Irish batsmen taking 4 wickets and conceding only 19 runs in 4 overs. Ireland were able to gather just 120/9 in the allotted 20 overs.

The champion team in the Champions Twenty20 league will get US $5 million, which is the highest ever prize money for a cricket event.
